The Ulm SchoolDesign Systems at DHUB focuses on the design of systems, illustrated with projects in visual communication, interior design, architecture and user interface design. In the 50’s, the Ulm School focused on exploring form within a system and design in relationship to technology and industry.

Among my favorites were Hans Gugelot’s Sistema de mobilari M125, Otl Aicher pictograms for the Munich Olympic games, Susan Kare’s interface graphics for Apple Macintosh.

I was disappointed however with the exhibition signage. The title graphics aligned to the bottom of the pieces, in inappropriate weight on gray background, were quite difficult to read.
On view until 20.05.2012 at Espai 0, DHUB, (Montcada, 12), more info.
